Accounts receivable

Accounts receivable refers to all payments that the department receives from other entities. Access information about how these are processed.

Accounts receiveable

If you need to receive payment from another entity for goods or services that you have provided, please complete a debtor invoice request form and send it to finance@stategrowth.tas.gov.au

Please ensure that you have provided the correct account number for the money to be receipted to once it is received (refer Chart of Accounts).

Department policy for management of debtors, including issue of invoices, terms of trade, collection action, legal action, bankruptcy/insolvency, and debt write-off are detailed in Debtor Management. For details regarding authority to write-off debts, refer to Department policy Accounts Receivable – Write-off authority.

Motor Registry System revenue

The Department’s Motor Registry System (MRS) facilitates the collection of revenue from motor registrations, drivers licensing, public passenger transport administration, and other transport related regulatory activity. This is a vitally important source of revenue in excess of $350 million per annum for the State and State owned entities such as MAIB and State Revenue Office. MRS financial transactions are uploaded to the Department’s Financials system and processed and reconciled by Finance Branch. For further information on MRS financial processes, refer to MRS Revenue Collection.
