The department is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people and has zero tolerance for child harm of any kind.
Please note:
This site contains information about child abuse and harm that some people may find distressing.
If a child or young person is at immediate risk, call 000 or contact the Strong Families, Safe Kids, Advice and Referral Line on 1800 000 123.
For children and young people to be safe in our community, they need to be safe in our organisations.
We have created a Child and Youth Safety and Wellbeing Policy which details how we prioritise and promote the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
Our Reporting and Investigating Reportable Conduct Policy and Procedure outlines how we respond when there are concerns about a worker’s behaviour towards children and young people. Please review and make yourself aware of the details within each Policy.
We recognise that this may be a challenging or difficult topic for you and if at any time you are impacted or would like to speak to someone there are support services that can help.
