There are a number of reasons why we prioritise diversity, equity and inclusion, including:
- It makes good business sense as diverse workplaces are more productive, effective, innovative and agile and
- the department must take all reasonable steps to prevent discrimination, harassment, victimisation or bullying of its employees.
Most importantly, it is a priority because understanding and respecting that our people are diverse, just like the Tasmanian community, builds a positive workplace culture that provides a greater sense of belonging and connection to our roles, the business and the community.
A positive and inclusive culture encourages people to bring their best, authentic selves to work and this results in us working more effectively together and deliver excellence.
