An induction timeline is crucial for new employees at the Department of State Growth Tasmania. It structures the induction process, clarifies expectations, reduces anxiety, and ensures efficient time management, enhancing engagement, productivity, and compliance while facilitating a smooth start.
Prior to commencement
- Managers to review the Induction at State Growth guidelines
- Managers to review to Induction - Manager fact sheet
- People and Culture will provide the new employee commencement forms to complete which are returned back to hroperations@stategrowth.tas.gov.au. This is to ensure the new employee is set up in the payroll systems promptly
- Managers to complete the New Staff Business Services Requirements Form to advise Business Services about new starters, staff movements or changes in access/location. Note: for Transport Group, this is completed by Divisional support staff - please refer to the Transport Group - recruitment, induction and staff movements page.
Day one
- Employee to review the Induction at State Growth guidelines
- Employee to complete the Welcome online induction module
- Employee to complete Work Health, Safety and Wellbeing online induction module
- Employee to complete Employment Conditions and Support module
- Manager and employees to complete Work, health and safety induction checklist
Week one
- Manager and employee to complete State Growth induction checklist
- Employee to complete remaining online induction modules: ICT and Spatial Services and Values, Culture and Diversity
- Register for new employee orientation via myGrowth.
Month one
- Manager and employee to ensure all division/branch specific induction activities are completed
- Manager and employee to commence either the Probation or Personal Performance and Learning Agreement (PPLA) process
- Complete one month induction modules
Month three
- Employee to have completed Online virtual orientation
- Employee to complete Employee check-in survey
Month six
- Manager and employee to complete either the Probation or Personal Performance and Learning Agreement (PPLA) process
