Manager Essentials Program

Manager Essentials Program – more commitment but if you are serious about managing in the State Service this is the program of choice

The Manager Essentials Program (MEP) is a whole-of-service high quality program designed and developed to increase the fundamental and essential management capabilities of all State Service Managers. The program is endorsed by the Head of the State Service and all Heads of Departments, as a commitment to identifying and developing current and emerging managers in the State Service. At $1,500 per participant it is excellent value for money and some central funding is available to help subsidise participation where the business line doesn’t have capacity to fully fund. Contact Andrew Street in People and Culture to discuss potential subsidies.

Public Sector Management Program

Public Sector Management Program – go a step further and gain a Graduate Certificate qualification from Queensland University of Technology (QUT)

With participation across all levels of government this program will really broaden your perspective and develop an in-depth understanding of managing in the public sector. This national curriculum is delivered by QUT with the 2020 Hobart program due to commence in August.

People and Culture will be sponsoring a centrally funded place in this year's program with an expression of interest process to be conducted in April. We have 4 State Growth participants on the current program and over 25 alumni so People & Culture can put you in touch with plenty of people you can talk to about the PSMP experience.
